I wanted to create this painting as a tribute to Ryne Sandberg and the legacy he left in Chicago. I knew how much he meant to Cubs fans and how many people grew up watching and admiring him, both as a player and as a person.

After his passing in 2025, I felt inspired to capture a piece of that legacy through my artwork. I wanted this painting to celebrate the way Cubs fans remember him — in his iconic No. 23, playing for the team and city that he represented for so many years.

This piece is my way of honoring a Chicago sports legend and creating something that Cubs fans can connect with and remember him by.
