During Game 1 of the 2026 ALDS against the Cleveland Guardians, Munetaka Murakami hit a huge two-run home run to put the White Sox on the board. Not only was this his first career postseason home run, but he did it when we needed it most.
As a White Sox fan, this was such an exciting moment to witness on live TV. Mune was long overdue for a home run, and I was watching the game just waiting for him to finally hit one. When he did, I was so excited and I was so happy for him, especially knowing how much that moment meant for him and our team.
The fact that he hit his first postseason home run in Cleveland during Game 1 of the ALDS made it even more special, and we ended up winning the game! I knew I wanted to capture this moment on canvas because his reaction says it all. The excitement, emotion, and pure joy of hitting such an important home run.
This painting is part of my 2026 White Sox Postseason Collection, celebrating a moment I’ll never forget as a White Sox fan.
The original painting is one-of-one original and will never be recreated.
