This painting captures Mike Vasil as “The Wizard,” complete with his wizard hat and wand — inspired by the magic and energy he continues to bring to the White Sox. What I really like about Mike is the attitude he brings to the team. Even while being sidelined with an injury, he continues to show up, support his teammates, and bring energy to the dugout. He’s become known for being “The Wizard,” casting spells and bringing a little magic to the game, and I wanted this painting to capture that personality.

I later got the chance to meet Mike and have him personally sign the original painting. Watching him take in all the details of the piece was such a fun moment. His reaction felt so genuine, and you could tell he really loved what I had created. The whole interaction made me laugh because of his reaction, and I think he might've wanted to keep the painting for himself.

That moment made this piece even more memorable to me. It celebrates Mike Vasil, “The Wizard,” and the energy, personality, and magic he continues to bring to the White Sox even when he can’t be out there playing.
