This painting captures Chase Meidroth hitting a two-run home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers — a huge moment in the series against the defending World Series champions. I chose to paint Chase because I really like him as a player and the attitude and energy he brings every time he steps onto the field. I wanted to capture that through a moment where he stepped up and delivered against one of the best teams in baseball.

I later had the opportunity to meet Chase and have him personally sign the original painting. His reaction when he saw it made the piece even more special to me. He was genuinely stunned, told me how incredible he thought it was, and seemed almost at a loss for words. The interaction was funny and genuine, and from his reaction, it honestly looked like he wanted to take the painting home with him.

Being able to capture a player I enjoy watching and then see his reaction to my work in person is something I'll always remember. This piece celebrates Chase Meidroth, the energy he brings to the White Sox, and a memorable moment against the Dodgers.
